When God seems slow
"The Lord does not delay and is not tardy or slow about what He promises, according to some people's conception of slowness..." (2 Peter 3:9 AMP)
Are you going through a waiting season? A time where your heart's desires are taking longer to manifest than you expected?
You can count on this truth-- God will come through for you.
Have you been believing God for a job, a spouse, a child, a financial turnaround, a breakthrough in your business and career? He'll come through for you.
Or is there a challenge on your health or the health of a loved one and you've been believing God for healing? Whatever it is you're going through, God will surely come through for you.
As seen in our opening text, the Bible tells us that God is not slow about His promises. But to us, sometimes He seems slow.
In times like this, there are four things you need to do:
1. Trust God. Trust the fact that He loves you and He has your best interests at heart. Trust the fact that He has the ability to change that situation for the better. Trust that He is working behind the scenes for you, even though you can't see any change yet.
2. Hold on to His promises. God never lies (Numbers 23:19). He is ever faithful to confirm the integrity of His Word. As long as you know and believe what is written in His Word concerning your situation, you can rest assured that the battle is as good as won.
3. Refuse to worry. Don't give room for anxiety, worry, fear, doubt, murmuring and complaining. Cast all your cares on Him and thank Him in anticipation.
4. Be steadfast in hope. Don't adopt a 'what-will-be-will-be' attitude. Continue to expect God to fulfil His Word in your life. Continue to demonstrate your faith in Him by thinking positively about the situation and by speaking faith-filled words.
Remember this: God is never in haste, but He's always on time. He'll come through for you.
