Receive forgiveness and move on!
Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered. (Psalm 32:1 KJV)
Do you sometimes have guilt feelings about a sin (or sins) you committed in the past? Or are you afraid that a scandal may arise from your past mistakes to tarnish your image? Know this today: It's the devil trying to get an advantage of you. Don't be ignorant of his devices!
The Word of God instructs us to give no place to the devil in our lives and we musn't. (Ephesians 4:27).
Here's what you should do:
1. Confess it to God and receive forgiveness. 1John 1:9 KJV says, "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."
Jesus paid the price for all our sins. However it is required that we confess our misdeeds to God, so we can receive the forgiveness He freely offers. Confess your sins and receive His forgiveness by faith!
2. When you've received forgiveness, move on! Yes. Stop dwelling on it. Stop entertaining thoughts of it. Notice from the passage in 1John 1:9 that He not only forgives us, but He also cleanses us from all unrighteousness. That is, there's no record of it anymore. As far as God is concerned, it never happened, because He doesn't remember anymore! (Jeremiah 31:34 KJV). Hallelujah!
So whenever the devil tries to bring up thoughts of condemnation and guilt to your mind, just speak out and say, "I've received forgiveness and I've moved on. Satan, get lost!"
