How prepared are you?
"Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour" (1Peter 5:8 KJV)
In a fighting sport, like Boxing, a Champion is challenged by another Boxer, a date is announced for the fight, they both do their best to get prepared for the fight, the set day finally comes, the fight happens, and the better fighter wins.
As a Christian in this life, you are a Champion through Christ Jesus (Romans 8:37). Your adversary, the devil, is the challenger. He will use different circumstances to challenge you from time to time.
However, unlike the game of Boxing, the devil's fights show up unannounced. There won't be time for you to go and get prepared. How well you are able to handle life's impromptu challenges depends on how prepared you were before they came.
So, how prepared are you?
The Bible says, "... this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith" (1John 5:4 KJV).
Taking personal responsibility in building your faith in God and His Word is the key to overcoming the unexpected challenges the enemy throws at you.
A triumphant Believer does not get prepared; she lives prepared!
How? By being diligent in prayer and fasting, and in the study and practice of the Word.
